Defense contractors winning task orders need talent on the ground — fast. We source cleared, vetted military professionals with SOF at the core, placed as 1099 contractors so you can execute without the W-2 overhead.

Why Silent Professionals

Contract Staffing for the 1099 Environment

Most placement firms don't understand task order staffing. We do — because our network comes from it.

SOF-Led Talent Network

Former SOF professionals form the core of our network: Green Berets, Rangers, SEALs, Marine Raiders, PJs, and SWCC. We also place combat arms, K9 handlers, UAS operators, combat medics, maritime security, and cleared intel professionals.

Clearance Complexity, Handled

Secret through TS/SCI, across DoD, DOS, and DOE issuing authorities. Polygraph-eligible and SAP-capable candidates are in our network. Requirements are sorted at intake so there are no surprises.

Task Order Speed

When a task order hits, you have days, not months. We move fast. Candidate delivery begins within days of engagement, with your specific timeline established at intake.

Simple Flat-Fee Pricing

One flat fee per placement. No percentage of contract value, no ongoing markups. Know your cost before you say go.

Candidate Validation

Candidates are sourced organically from our extensive, SOF-heavy user base, then put through background validation: service history confirmed, verified availability and requirements met.

No Ongoing Obligations

Once your engagement closes, there are no retainers, no monthly fees, and no hidden costs. Flat fee, defined search window, defined candidate cap — clear structure from day one.

Our Process

How Our Contract Staffing Process Works

Five steps from task order win to contractor on-site. Every engagement starts with understanding your requirement, not just your job description.

1

Intake & Requirement Refinement

We review your task order language, required clearance levels, MOS/rate preferences, and timeline constraints.

2

SOF Network Search

We tap our active network of post-service operators, not job boards. Candidates are pre-screened for availability and clearance status.

3

Background Validation

Candidates are screened through our peer network, service history confirmed, and availability verified for your contract window.

4

Candidate Delivery

Candidates are delivered in rolling batches throughout your active search window. Each profile includes a qualification summary coversheet.

5

Your Selection

You review delivered profiles and reach out to the candidates that fit. The contractor relationship is yours to establish directly — your hire, your contract, your timeline.

Built for Government Contractors

Purpose-built for defense primes, subcontractors, training organizations, and other firms executing on government contracts — where task order speed and cleared SOF talent access matter most.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this "contract placement" instead of staffing?
With contract placement, the candidate becomes an independent contractor (1099) directly to your organization, not an employee of Silent Professionals. We find, vet, and deliver the talent; you manage the contracting relationship. This is distinct from a staffing agency model where the agency employs the worker.
How do you source 1099-ready candidates?
Our network is built around post-service SOF professionals who have experience operating in the defense contractor space. Many are already working or have previously worked as 1099 contractors. We assess availability, clearance status, and interest in the specific scope before presenting them.
Can you support multiple positions on the same task order?
Yes. We support concurrent searches and can deliver multiple shortlists simultaneously for the same contract vehicle. Volume pricing is available for three or more positions. Contact us to discuss your full requirement.
Can we adjust the search criteria after it starts?
Yes, once. After your first candidate delivery, you have one opportunity to refine the search parameters: role scope, clearance level, location, availability window, or any other criteria that need tightening. That refinement is included in your engagement. The revised criteria lock in for the remainder of your 45-day search window. Ongoing criteria changes beyond that are not available. Every adjustment restarts meaningful sourcing work, and unlimited revisions make timely delivery impossible. If requirements shift significantly mid-search, we will discuss whether a new engagement makes more sense.
Do you handle OCONUS engagements?
Yes. Many of our candidates have extensive OCONUS experience and are comfortable deploying in austere and high-risk environments. We factor OCONUS requirements into the vetting process and provide candidates with relevant theater-specific backgrounds.
How does this differ from your direct hire service?
Direct hire is for permanent, W-2 employment where the candidate joins your organization as a full-time employee. Contract placement is for 1099 independent contractors on task orders, project work, or surge requirements where you need operational flexibility.
What information do you need to start a search?
A description of the role, the clearance level required, the desired start date, general location (CONUS/OCONUS), any MOS or rate preferences, and the contractor compensation range if available. If you have a Statement of Work or task order language we can review, even better. We refine the requirement with you during intake before the search begins.
